#GivingTuesday 2023

On Tuesday, November 28, 2023, Catholic Charities will host a one-day only ONLINE fundraising event. We are inviting all of our email contacts and social media friends to participate and make a donation – no gift is too small – to help our mission of providing services to people who are vulnerable, impoverished and weary in hope as a result of their societal conditions.

This year, the global movement of #GivingTuesday will once again highlight the immense power of generosity, and at its forefront stands community organizations of all types – including Catholic Charities, Diocese of Youngstown. Originating in 2012, #GivingTuesday has evolved into a day that transcends differences, uniting millions in acts of kindness and compassion. It’s a reminder that even amidst challenges, the spirit of giving can create a positive impact.

#GivingTuesday encapsulates the essence of shared humanity—encouraging individuals to extend kindness, support neighbors, advocate for causes, and make charitable contributions. This universal call to action unites people across races, faiths, and political beliefs, emphasizing what connects us rather than divides us. The recent surge in philanthropy, evident in 2021 data, highlights the innate human desire to make a difference, even during uncertain times.

As we approach the day of global giving, let’s remember that every act of kindness, regardless of scale, contributes to the positive change we wish to see in our communities and beyond.
