A few short months ago, Darren visited our Ravenna office seeking assistance with groceries. Our staff was able to set him up with an appointment for a food pantry order so that his family of 4 would have adequate food. While our staff was speaking with him, he disclosed that his 18-month-old son needed some basic supplies, and that he needed help obtaining a new photo ID so that he could apply for a better job. Through our First Step program, Darren was able to go home with diapers, wipes, and clothing for his young son. We were also able to provide Darren with a voucher to obtain his photo ID. Darren was then able to apply for a job, which he was hired for, and is now making a steady income to where he can provide his family with what they need to live a fully dignified life.
