Back-to-School 2023: New and Used Bookbags
As the summer comes to a close, it’s time to prepare for the exciting journey of going back to school. For many children and families in the Diocese of Youngstown, this time of year can bring financial challenges that hinder their ability to access essential school supplies. At Catholic Charities, we firmly believe that education is the key to unlocking a brighter future for these children. That’s why we’re launching a heartfelt initiative to collect new and used bookbags to support students in need throughout our diocese.
Why Back-to-School Support Matters: A good education forms the foundation for success in life. Unfortunately, numerous families in our community struggle to afford the necessary supplies for their children to succeed academically. A bookbag might seem like a simple item, but for these students, it symbolizes hope, encouragement, and the opportunity to achieve their dreams. By providing them with the tools they need, we can help level the playing field and ensure that every child has a fair chance at academic excellence.
The Impact of Your Donation: Your generous contribution of new and used bookbags can make a significant difference in the lives of these young learners. Not only will they have a practical means to carry their books and supplies, but they will also feel supported and valued by their community. The sense of belonging and confidence that comes from having the right tools for school can empower these children to excel in their studies and pursue their passions.
How to Donate: Donating to our “Back-to-School” bookbag collection is easy and greatly appreciated. If you have new or gently used bookbags that your own children have outgrown or are no longer using, consider giving them a second life by donating them to Catholic Charities.
