Deanery Needs Assessment

 In News

In Bishop Bonnar’s first pastoral letter, Testify to the Light, he designates SERVICE as a priority, and invites the Catholic faithful in the Diocese of Youngstown to partner with him in creating a Servant Church.  To this end, Bishop Bonnar is asking every deanery to conduct a needs assessment process to identify ways in which parish communities and deaneries can reach out to those most in need of the love and compassion we can offer as followers of Christ.

Catholic Charities has developed a Deanery Needs Assessment Process that begins at the parish level and ends with the deanery’s selection of 3-5 priorities to carry forward for action.  The Deanery Needs Assessment outline and step-by-step process is available by CLICKING HERE, or as an addendum to Testify to the Light on the diocesan website (

If you would like assistance from Catholic Charities in developing a local needs assessment process that is right for your parish, please contact Jennifer Lucarelli, Catholic Charities’ Project Manager at 330-744-8451 or
