Today is my last day with Catholic Charities, Diocese of Youngstown. It feels like just yesterday (on a very cold and snowy February morning) I interviewed for my position. I had no idea when I accepted the position of Grants and Projects Coordinator what a blessing and joy it would be to work for the Diocese.
It is truly an honor and pleasure to come to work and know my job is to “provide help and create hope.” My goal every day was to make a difference in the lives of people living in our neighborhoods and in our communities. I was able to do that each and every day with the help of my wonderful co-workers.
I got to know my co-workers as devoted, caring, kind and faithful people. There have been bumps in the road (professionally and personally) over the past 10 years but when the mission and vision of our organization relies on the presence of God, nothing is impossible.
I wanted to take this opportunity to thank each and every staff member for the opportunity to work with you. I have worked with various departments, parishes, priests and entities. My projects have varied over the years from First Step to Change to the Voice of Hope Dinner (it is back) to Warm Hearts for Warm Homes; I have written and coordinated grants and served as the Diocesan Director for CRS and CCHD.
To say I have learned a lot and grown personally and professionally is an understatement. I am overwhelmed with emotion as I say good-bye to my diocesan position; yet I also look to the future as the Assistant Director with Catholic Charities of Ashtabula County.
My opportunities to provide help, create hope and make a difference to the people of Ashtabula County is waiting and I look forward to faithfully taking them on.
I close with these two bible verses reminding all of us that God is with us through all of our changes and challenges. Thank you to everyone who has always been there for me. God Bless and take care.
I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. ~ Philippians 4:13
Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you. ~ Deuteronomy 31:6
