Warm Hearts for Warm Homes

 In Blog, Client Stories

In an effort to raise awareness about the breadth of need for utility assistance among low-income families with children, at-risk adults, and vulnerable seniors, especially during the harsh winter months, Catholic Charities has renamed what has formerly been known as “Keep the Kids Warm” to “Warm Hearts for Warm Homes.”  Donations for this campaign are now being accepted.

Approximately 43% of the households in the Diocese of Youngstown have difficulty affording life’s basic necessities, including food, shelter, and heat during the cold winter months.

“Warm Hearts for Warm Homes” assists households who do not qualify for government assistance; households waiting for PIPP (Percentage of Income Payment Plan) Plus to authorize assistance; and households whose HEAP (Home Energy Assistance Program) benefits have been exhausted.

Catholic Charities serves people of all faiths and no faith as resources allow.  Last year, Catholic Charities impacted over 5,100 people through its utility assistance efforts across the Diocese of Youngstown.

Donations to support “Warm Hearts for Warm Homes” can be sent to  Catholic Charities, Warm Hearts for Warm Homes, 144 West Wood Street, Youngstown, Ohio 44503 or CLICK HERE NOW.

Thank you for your continued support of this important ministry to our neighbors and friends throughout our community.  God bless you.
