Victims know, from their own experience, that you cannot ‘fix’ an abusive relationship, however much they still loved their partner or clung on to the hope that they would change. The only option is to ‘get out’, but only when the time is right and it is safe to do so, and ideally with help from someone who understands domestic violence and abuse.

Victims are warned that things would get worse over time and not to delay, and are urged to get themselves in a safe situation rather than ‘being carried out in a body bag.’

Do NOT attend any fancy, fundraising dinner, do NOT hire a sitter or buy new clothes. Do NOT attend and kindly respond with a donation to help victims of domestic violence.

Your response could save a life. Donate today.

Christina House, a program of Catholic Charities Regional Agency, offers emergency shelter of victims of domestic violence. Once in shelter care, a case manager works with the victim and helps to access available services in the county. Additional support services include legal advocacy, counseling and transportation. Other services include a 24-hour crisis line, outreach and educational speakers, community awareness and response to hospital calls for rape and sexual assault

Please consider a donation today to help vicitms of domestic violence living in our communities.  DONATE TODAY or make checks payable to Catholic Charities and mail to:  Catholic Charities, Attn:  Nikole Baringer, 144 West Wood Street, Youngstown, OH  44503.

Thank you for taking the time to make a difference in the life of domestic violence victims. Any donation amount is greatly appreciated.
