Home for the Holidays

 In News

What does “home for the holidays” mean to you?  Does it call to mind traveling to visit with family; enjoying large meals around a crowded table; decorating the Christmas tree; spending time with loved ones?

For most of us, the Christmas season is a joyful time of year. However, for many of the clients served by Catholic Charities, Christmas is a time of additional stress and anxiety.

Many families worry throughout the year about finding enough money to put gas in the car to get to work; providing dinner for the children; spending rent money to keep the heat turned on; or juggling bills just to get through a particularly rough patch.  The added stress that comes around the holidays can compound the day to day struggles, leading to depression, hopelessness, and despair.

Catholic Charities works to provide help, hope and a feeling of “home” to those we serve each day. Your support of Catholic Charities allows us to bring people “home” each day as we offer food, shelter, clothing, and other immediate needs.

Thank you for believing in the mission of Catholic Charities, now and throughout the year.
